TAKT is more than just a stage. It’s a living, breathing space where bold ideas, artistic innovation, and urgent social questions collide. Founded in 2022 in Vienna by two artists who felt the limits of traditional structures too deeply, TAKT was born from a need — a need for something braver, something more honest, more fluid, and more human.
We are an independent concert promoter dedicated to transdisciplinary performance formats in Vienna. Our work moves across classical music, performance art, movement, text, and installation — not just presenting them side by side, but allowing them to intertwine, challenge, and elevate one another. One art form strengthens the other. Together, they create something new.
In our first two concert seasons, we curated twelve evenings that defied categories and reimagined the concert format — moments of intimacy, friction, resonance, and reflection. Each event invited artists to experiment, to take risks, and to meet the audience in a space of curiosity and shared presence. We don’t work from templates. We work from questions.
TAKT is a collective that thrives on collaboration and dialogue.
At the heart of everything we do is care. We care about how we work. We care about who gets to speak. We care about creating an environment where everyone — artists, collaborators, audiences — feels invited, respected, and heard. We believe that the merging of disciplines makes each one stronger, and that the blending of perspectives opens new possibilities for connection.
We stand for accessibility, for anti-discrimination, and for a cultural landscape that reflects the complexity of the world we live in. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we are committed to asking the right questions — with care, with courage, and with curiosity.
TAKT is still growing, still listening, still transforming. And for us, this is just the beginning!
